Recorder stands are useful for keeping your instruments safely to hand, without having
to lay them
down on the floor. Use them for practice sessions or during a performance. The pegs can be
removed from the bases of the stands for ease of transport.
Stands can be constructed for any instrument combination. Examples shown here are
sopranino to
alto in elm (right) and sopranino to tenor in sycamore (left).
They may also be constructed to accommodate other instruments (e.g. schawms, oboes,
flutes
etc).
Recorders are from the Conservatoire range by Dolmetsch, apart from the sopranino
which is one
of their hand-built instruments.
The picture below shows a set of nine recorder stands constructed in oak for the Berkshire
recorder
Consort (click on the picture to enlarge it).
Recorder stands may be built to order, though a small stock is normally available.
Typical
prices
are £20 - £25 for sopranino to alto, £25 - £30 for sopranino to tenor (no VAT payable).
